Tonsillectomy Recovery: What to Expect
Tonsillectomy recovery is harder than most people expect. Days 5–7 are usually the most painful as the scabs begin to loosen. Hydration is the single most important thing: dehydration is the most common reason people are readmitted to hospital. Sip constantly, even if it hurts. Electrolyte sachets dissolved in cold water go down easier than plain water, and flexible bendy straws let you drink without tipping your head back.
