1. Who we are

Postopcare.info is a free post-surgery recovery information service operated by Digital Treasure Pty Ltd (ACN 696 816 636), a company registered in Queensland, Australia. We are subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Your health data

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal health information.

All data you enter into Postopcare.info’s interactive tools: including:

• Pain scores in the pain tracker
• Surgery type and recovery date
• Medication schedules
• Appointment notes and questions
• Wound photos in the wound photo journal
• Checklist completions
• DVT and driving readiness assessment inputs

, is stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This data is never transmitted to any Postopcare.info server and we have no access to it whatsoever.

Clearing your browser data, using a private/incognito window, or switching to a different device will remove this data. We cannot recover it for you.

3. Analytics we collect

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used. GA4 collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on pages
• General geographic region (country and approximate city)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Traffic source (how you arrived: search engine, direct, referral)

Custom events we track: In addition to standard page views, we track specific tool interactions to understand which features are genuinely useful:

• Which surgery type is selected in the recovery guide (e.g. “knee replacement”)
• Whether tools such as the DVT checker, driving readiness checker, and wound check are completed
• Whether the appointment preparation tool is used and a question list is generated
• Whether the pain tracker GP report is shared or printed
• Which navigation tabs are used (Guide, Daily, Meds, More)

These events contain no personal health information. They record what type of content was accessed, not details about an individual’s health. They cannot identify individual users.

GA4 data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of GA4 tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Feedback widget

Pages on Postopcare.info include a simple “Did this help? We'd love to know 👍 / 👎” prompt. When you tap a response, a GA4 event is fired containing:

• Whether the response was positive or negative
• The page URL
• The page title

No personal information is collected. Responses are used to identify pages that need improvement. Feedback data is stored in GA4 and subject to Google’s privacy policy.

5. Our widget on other sites

Postopcare.info provides a free embeddable widget (widget.js) that other websites can add to their pages. When someone uses the widget on an external site:

• The domain of the site where the widget is embedded is recorded (not the individual user)
• If a surgery type is selected in the widget, the surgery name is recorded
• No personal information from the external site’s users is collected
• Widget interactions are tracked via an image pixel request to Postopcare.info: no cookies are set on the external site by our widget

6. Third-party widgets on this site

Some pages on Postopcare.info include an embedded mental health helplines widget from Helplines.com.au. If you click a link in this widget, you will be taken to Helplines.com.au, which has its own privacy policy. Digital Treasure Pty Ltd does not receive any data from your interaction with the Helplines.com.au widget.

7. Cookies and local storage

Cookies: Postopcare.info itself does not set first-party cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies as part of its standard operation. Grow.me (a content recommendation service used on this site) may also set cookies subject to its own privacy policy. Journey by Mediavine, our advertising management partner, and the third parties it works with may also set first- and third-party cookies for ad delivery and personalisation, see section 9 below for full detail. No health data is shared with any third party.

Local storage: Postopcare.info uses your browser’s localStorage to save your tool data (pain entries, checklists, etc.) on your device. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted anywhere. You can clear local storage through your browser’s settings.

Session storage: We use sessionStorage to remember whether you have responded to the page feedback prompt in a given session, to avoid showing it repeatedly. This data does not persist after you close your browser.

8. Advertising, affiliate links, and content recommendations

Some pages on Postopcare.info include affiliate links to products on Amazon and other retailers. If you purchase a product after clicking one of these links, Digital Treasure Pty Ltd may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships have no influence on clinical content. This site also uses Grow.me, a content recommendation service, and works with Journey by Mediavine to manage third-party, interest-based (programmatic) advertising, see section 9 for full detail on how that works. No health data entered into interactive tools is shared with any advertising, affiliate, or content recommendation partner. See our affiliate disclosure for full details.

9. Journey by Mediavine Programmatic Advertising

The Website works with Journey by Mediavine, an ad management platform operated by Mediavine, to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Journey by Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

• IP Address
• Operating System type
• Operating System version
• Device Type
• Language of the website
• Web browser type
• Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

A “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link, provided by Journey by Mediavine, appears on every page to let California residents exercise this right.

EU/UK/EEA visitors (GDPR): A consent management platform (CMP) banner lets you choose which categories of cookies and data processing you consent to before any personalised ads are served, in line with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework.

10. Children

Postopcare.info is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the site in a way that has resulted in personal data being collected, please contact us.

11. International users

Postopcare.info is operated from Australia and subject to Australian law. If you are accessing the site from outside Australia (including from the UK, EU, or US) your use of the site constitutes consent to the processing of any data as described in this policy.

GA4 data may be processed by Google on servers outside Australia. Google’s data processing is governed by their privacy policy and standard contractual clauses. Journey by Mediavine and its advertising partners may likewise process data outside Australia, as described in section 9.

12. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Lodge a complaint about our privacy practices

Because we collect no personal health information and our analytics data is anonymous, there is typically no personal information held about individual users. GA4 analytics data is aggregated and cannot be attributed to an individual.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of Postopcare.info after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
