By using Postopcare.info you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this site. These terms apply to all users, including users who access the site directly and users who reach it via an embedded widget on a third-party site.

2. About this service

Postopcare.info is a free post-surgical recovery information resource compiled from published clinical guidelines. It is operated by Digital Treasure Pty Ltd (ACN 696 816 636), a company registered in Queensland, Australia.

The service is provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no registration, and no login required. Digital Treasure Pty Ltd does not accept payment from advertisers to influence clinical content. See section 9 (Affiliate links and product recommendations) for details on how this site is supported.

3. Medical disclaimer

Postopcare.info provides general health information only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It does not establish a doctor-patient relationship between you and Digital Treasure Pty Ltd or any contributor to this site.

The information on this site:

• Is compiled from published clinical guidelines (NHS, NICE, RCOG, AAOS, AHA, healthdirect Australia, Cancer Council Australia) and describes what those guidelines say
• May not apply to your specific medical history, medications, surgical procedure, or circumstances
• Does not replace the specific discharge instructions or clinical advice provided by your own surgical team
• Is not a substitute for review by a qualified healthcare professional

Always follow the instructions of your own surgeon, GP, and clinical team. If you are concerned about a symptom, contact your clinical team or attend the emergency department. Do not delay seeking medical advice because of something you have read on this site.

4. International audience: please read

Postopcare.info is operated from Australia and accessed by readers in many countries. Most of our visitors are in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and India, but the site is publicly accessible worldwide.

Important points for international readers:

• Healthcare systems differ. What happens in an Australian, British, American, Canadian or other public/private healthcare system may not match your experience. Discharge processes, follow-up timelines, who you contact after surgery, and what is covered by insurance or government schemes all vary.
• Medication brand names differ. We try to use multiple brand names (for example: paracetamol = acetaminophen = Panadol = Tylenol) but the medications available in your country, their formulations, and their legal status may differ. Always confirm with a local pharmacist.
• Clinical guidelines differ between countries. Our content is based primarily on UK (NHS, NICE, RCOG), US (AAOS, AHA, ASCRS, AUA, AAO), and Australian (healthdirect, Cancer Council Australia) sources. Guidelines in your country may differ. Your own surgical team's instructions always take precedence.
• Emergency numbers vary. Examples are listed in the alert above. Look up your country's emergency number and save it before you need it.
• Driving rules differ. Driving laws after sedation or surgery vary by country and sometimes by region within a country. Always check with your treating clinician and your local road authority.
• "Speak to your doctor" is universal. Whatever country you are in, that advice does not change. If something on this site contradicts what your treating doctor has told you, follow your doctor.

Use of this site is offered worldwide on an "as is" basis. Digital Treasure Pty Ltd makes no warranty that any content is suitable, accurate, or legally compliant in any particular jurisdiction outside Australia.

5. Content and sources

Content is compiled from published clinical guidelines by NHS, NICE, RCOG, AAOS, AHA, healthdirect Australia, and Cancer Council Australia. Specific sources are cited on individual pages. Clinical guidelines change over time. While we aim to keep content current, we cannot guarantee that every page reflects the most recent guidance at the time you read it.

Postopcare.info does not claim that content has been individually reviewed or endorsed by a medical practitioner. Source attributions indicate the guideline documents from which information is compiled, not individual clinical review.

6. Interactive tools

Postopcare.info includes interactive tools including a pain tracker, DVT risk checker, wound check tool, driving readiness checker, medication schedule builder, and appointment preparation tool. These tools are provided for general monitoring and educational purposes only.

Tool outputs: including risk assessments, red flag alerts, and question lists — are not clinical assessments or diagnoses. They are intended to support conversations with your clinical team, not to replace them. A “low risk” result from any tool does not mean published guidance advises against seek medical advice if you are concerned about a symptom.

All data entered into the interactive tools is stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device only. It is never transmitted to any Postopcare.info server. See clause 6 for full data details.

7. Data and privacy

Our full data practices are described in the Privacy Policy. In summary:

• Health data you enter: Never leaves your device. Stored in browser local storage only.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4, including custom events that track which tools are used and completed (e.g. which surgery guides are accessed, whether tools are completed). No health data is included in analytics events.
• Feedback: Thumbs up/down feedback on pages fires an anonymous GA4 event. No personal information is collected.
• Advertising and affiliate tracking: This site uses Grow.me, a content recommendation service, and includes affiliate links to products on Amazon (see section 9). Grow.me may set its own cookies subject to its privacy policy. No health data is shared with advertising or affiliate partners.

8. Third-party content

Some pages on Postopcare.info include embedded content from third-party services, including a mental health helplines directory widget from Helplines.com.au. Third-party content is governed by the privacy policies of those services. Digital Treasure Pty Ltd is not responsible for the content, availability, or data practices of third-party services.

Postopcare.info contains links to external websites including NHS, NICE, Cancer Council Australia, AskMyGP.com.au, CarerCompass.org, and Helplines.com.au. Links are provided for informational purposes. We do not endorse or take responsibility for the content of external sites.

9. Affiliate links and product recommendations

Some pages on Postopcare.info include links to products or services on third-party sites, including Amazon and other retail or service partners. These are affiliate links: if you purchase a product or use a service after clicking one of these links, Digital Treasure Pty Ltd may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

• Product and service recommendations (such as recovery aids, compression garments, wound care supplies, or hair loss coverage options) are included only where they are relevant to the recovery guidance on that page. They are not endorsements of specific brands.
• Affiliate links are marked with rel="noopener sponsored" in the page source.
• You are never required to purchase any product or use any service. All clinical content on this site is freely accessible without purchasing anything.
• This site is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon, and in individual affiliate programmes run through the Awin affiliate network with selected retail and service partners.

10. Embedding our widget

Postopcare.info provides a free embeddable widget (widget.js) that allows other websites to display a surgery recovery guide finder. The following conditions apply to embedding:

• The widget may be embedded free of charge on any health information, clinical, or patient support website
• The widget must not be modified to remove the Postopcare.info branding or medical disclaimer
• The widget must not be used on sites that give or imply medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations
• We reserve the right to withdraw or modify the widget at any time without notice
• Basic analytics data (page referrer, surgery selected) may be collected when the widget is used. No personal health data is collected from widget interactions.
• Embedding the widget does not create a commercial relationship between Digital Treasure Pty Ltd and the embedding site

11. Intellectual property

The Postopcare.info platform, design, code, and original written content are owned by Digital Treasure Pty Ltd. Clinical guideline content cited on this site remains the property of its respective owners (NHS, NICE, RCOG, AAOS, AHA, healthdirect Australia, Cancer Council Australia).

You may print or save individual pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute content from this site for commercial purposes without written permission from Digital Treasure Pty Ltd.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Digital Treasure Pty Ltd excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, information provided on this site. This includes but is not limited to loss arising from:

• Reliance on content that does not apply to your specific circumstances
• Delay in seeking appropriate medical care because of information on this site
• Inaccuracy in clinical guideline information at the time of access
• Technical failure of interactive tools
• Loss of data stored in browser local storage

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of Postopcare.info after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from use of this site are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.
